In our new world, where the creative economy is its own trillion dollar industry, many of us are still defining our value, self-worth, and status by a single job title or company name….

Acknowledging the condition. 

We've been conditioned to believe that “what we do” earns us respect in rooms. The one we hope will buy us belonging, stability, and social proof that we’re “on track.”
That if we make money through several revenue streams, we’re somehow either unfocused, “all over the place”, or unreliable.
This is NOT an accident. It’s the result of a system (white patriarchal supremacist values) that has been VERY SUCCESSFUL in conditioning us to believe our worth is only in what we produce on its behalf.
A system that tells us, in subtle and explicit ways, that our creativity and ability to build wealth through multiple revenue streams can’t happen until after we’ve become wealthy, not how we become wealthy.  

We simply don’t have time to limit ourselves (and our earning potential) to a single phrase like “software sales” or “at Goldman.” 

The internal code switch

We've spent so many generations code-switching to survive that the ability to discern between who we are and what is our conditioning is will only become increasingly complex as racism and white supremacy continue to evolve and advance.
The work we must do, as the wisdom projectors like Audre Lorde, James Baldwin, and Malcolm X have told us, is to remember: We are not responsible for the oppression this system created. However, only we can set ourselves free, as the system will not simply cease its oppression.
We are now more resourced with language, income, and resources (like coaching with Mandy Bynum) for not only the language to unpack our inherited or experienced trauma, but to truly align our individual values and unique skillsets to our INCOME.
